Real Estate: Perdido Key

Let’s talk real estate. But let me make this clear: I am not a licensed agent. The following are just pure thoughts and opinions.

Now that I’ve got that out of the way. Real estate in Perdido Key. There’s really not that much, but what you do find is generally against the water on either side. I remember browsing Zillow looking for cheap housing to live in within Perdido Key. What a joke that was! To buy, everything is over 500k and to rent, everything is over 2k! It always blows my mind that people in Pensacola make that kind of money.

There also aren’t very many actual houses. A lot of the residential real estate is condos and apartments with a few houses scattered along the way. There are also a couple of trailer and RV parks. Which are actually pretty neat because they build balconies over their residence.

I’m sure that no matter where you live in Perdido Key, the view is gorgeous (well, on a sunny day at least). The only thing I would be worried about are hurricanes and flooding. Typically, Perdido Key is the first place to go under in a natural disaster like one of the two aforementioned. My parents live 7 minutes over the bridge on the mainland and they don’t experience as much flooding as the island does.

I suppose living in Perdido Key has both its pros and cons. Would you say the pros outweigh the cons?
